january 2011, nourished.

Congratulations to my friend Mariella on the birth of her second girl, Tessa, named by her big sis!

Spotted: buds on the plum trees!

I didn't intend on tracking anything, this month, especially, particularly after posting about my steps toward balance and my need to let go, but I wanted to plan meals a little better, I did want to keep track of exercise, and I wanted to make sure I was doing something nourishing each day. So I did track for the first couple weeks of the month. In the end, I decided not to post that record here, but I have been successful at all of it.

Quite honestly, at first I had no idea how I wasn't getting it all done before. I know I posted multiple times about feeling overwhelmed and not being able to fit it all in. I know many of you concurred, but others commented that you don't struggle with this balance (or it certainly appears that you don't through your blogging!)

I am not sure what I am doing differently (although I am less present in everyone else's online spaces and I fear our families might need a little more of my attention), so who knows if this will continue, but for now, I am parenting the way I want to be, I am getting to bed earlier, still crafting a little bit, trying new meals, exercising, and yes, feeling nourished.

It finally dawned on me a fairly big explanation for all these sudden, hopefully sustainable, improvements. I am finally feeling better. The gluten free diet has finally been having a positive affect on my body, and while I haven't seen some of the changes I had hoped for (a little weight loss and an elimination of eczema would have been nice), I do feel so, so much better. I have more energy, I am less grouchy, and I haven't had a need for antibiotics. Yay.

Here's to a continually changing-for-the-better, nourished 2011.
