family

Today, Rhythm of the Home's (ROTH) Summer 2010 quarterly online magazine is released! I am pleased to have two articles featured in this edition. I had not submitted to ROTH previously, but I had a couple "summery" articles to share this time around. (Margarita Pie and Preserving Children's Creative Work.) My natural egg dyeing post was edited into an article for the ROTH April 2010 special project, so you will already find ROTH's button and link on my "Online Communities" page in the horizontal navigation bar below my blog header. For the length of this edition, you can also find an easy link in my right hand navigation bar as well. Kudos to Heather, Bernadette, and Julia for all the hard work they put into the magazine!

What better way to post a mention of the summer edition of Rhythm of the Home than a post about family?

Here, in photos, a "snapshot" of the remainder of our long holiday weekend.

Yesterday, the kids, my parents (grandma and nonno), and I went to one of our favorite state parks. Nonno went for a bike ride. The kids, grandma, and I went for a little hike. And all of us reunited for a picnic by the water. We missed Mike, who was scheduled to work.

One Sunday, we were invited, along with Mike's brother and sister-in-law, to join his mom (Grannie Annie) at her good friend, Bud's house. Bud has a pool, much to the kids' delight! Sadly, I forgot my good camera. I had my point and shoot and I am shocked by the quality difference now!

I love Finnian and his funny faces and that you can see Bud's pool and gorgeous gardens in the reflection.

I loved this scene of Mike and the kids. He kept kissing them and both of them were giggling so hard. I love that he is mostly in focus and they are blurry with the motion of laughter.

I hope this week is "starting" joyfully for everyone!
