Lala attends a music charter school, a public school, privately run, with a music and arts focus. She loves it. We love it. But schools in our state are having their funding cut again and again, so are looking for money wherever they can.
Her school is hosting an auction fundraiser at the end of the month. I have selected and contributed three of my photos, printed and framed. The auction coordinator asked for three 5x7 prints of flowers. Below is what I chose.
I admit, this act has brought on much nervousness. I love taking photos. I love the way looking at things through a camera makes me truly see little things in a special and beautiful way. But I am not a photographer. I have so much to learn and I still feel a little awkward behind the camera. My camera knows more than I do, and as I was reading a photo book the other night, I shut off the light and realized it was my own anxiousness about gifting these photos that was making my stomach a little nervous and making sleep slow to come.
But I am doing it anyway, will keep learning and reading about photography, and will hope that what I learn will become apparent in my photographs in the coming months. And I hope these photos get at least one bid, no matter how small.
